The Specialised Master’s® is a cer-tified diploma delivered by a member institution of the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles (CGE). It is offered by the Énsa de Paris-Belleville school in partnership with the École Camondo and is backed by numerous public and private partners.
An original course providing open-ings into various fields relating to sce-nography (ephemeral architecture, exhibition venues, events, live perfor-mances, etc.).
Prepares students to think about ephemeral architecture in context, in relation to an audience, a work, a narrative.

The aim of this course is to train project managers in ephemeral architecture: design, project management and assistance in project ownership in the field of ephemeral architecture (scenography of shows, exhibitions, public spaces, trade fairs and events).

types of teaching

  • Technical teaching: mastery of ambience (lighting, finishings, acoustics, etc.), spe-cific implementation techniques (assem-bly/disassembly, reuse, etc.), regulations (safety of property and people, etc.) and exhibition and conservation issues (muse-ology, signage, digital interfaces, etc.).
  • Theoretical teaching: history, recent developments, innovative policies, spe-cificities, etc. relating to theatre, muse-ums, commercial architecture and public events.
  • Project teaching: the purpose of the project exercises is to allow stu-dents to work on realistic project simu-lations, to encourage fundamental and prospective reflection and interdiscipli-nary approaches

inaugural week (teaching and visits)
21 weeks of teaching (Friday) and studios (Saturday):

  • 7 weeks: scenography for events,
  • 7 weeks: scenography for exhibition venues,
  • 7 weeks: scenography for shows
  • 2 intensive weeks (workshops) focusing on technical aspects : artificial light, project scale 1
    4 to 6 months working in a professional setting professional thesis defence.

enrolment

The Specialized Master’s Degree® in Architecture and scenography is aimed at holders of a:
—Master’s 2 or equivalent diploma (bac+5) in the fields of architecture, interior archi-tecture, applied arts in space, design, engi-neering, urban planning, landscape archi-tecture and the entertainment industry;
—Master’s 1 or equivalent diploma (bac+4) for candidates with at least 3 years of professional experience in the fields of architecture, urban planning, land-scape architecture and the entertain-ment industry;
—with special dispensation the follow-ing may be accepted :

  • Master’s 1 graduates in the above-men-tioned fields and without any profes-sional experience,
  • Bachelor 1 graduates in the above-men-tioned fields with at least 3 years of pro-fessional experience in architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture and the entertainment industry
